We made it

All the kiddos did well on the flight...

Sleepies

After all that travel we got about five hours sleep. Z woke up briefly and saw toys, that was it for his sleep.

And...

Z still hates getting his haircut.

Tahoe- Day one

We spent the morning playing with Jackie and Drew at the Tahoe Children's Center. After we left Z eagerly jumped on the first snow pile he saw. It is pretty hard packed but that hasn't deterred him. All day long he wanted to play in the snow! He isn't so used to all the layers and the unseasonably warm weather today afforded him some freedom. He even got nudie at the beach and took a dip on the lake to his knees! Crazy kid. He is officially tuckered out and fell asleep while we were reading books tonight. Tomorrow we got the slopes.

Tuesday morning beach cruise

Sunday and Monday were not the nicest days but today we are blessed with lots of sunshine. Here are some pics from our standard morning beach cruise.

Pack-n-play

Declan is doing great in the pack-n-play. This is his second nap in it today and he only woke up twice last night. It is amazing how far a little sleep training goes. Too bad we never tried with Z. ;)

Sister took lots of fun pics of Z when at the park. My phone camera gets fixed tomorrow so I will be back in the picture game!

Travel

Well, we made it to Honolulu. Both boys were great at the airports and on the airplane. Z got his own seat for the first time. I was a little concerned he would want to sit on our laps, but he eagerly buckled his seatbelt and looked out the window. I was a little depressed with yet another marker of Z growing older.

Buddies

So Z and Declan are beginning their interesting relationship. They always know when there other is and Declan wants to be near Z. Z on the other hand is definitely used to Declan but does not want him touching ANYTHING! It is going to be an interesting road ahead.

Elmo Speech

Z insisted on wearing Elmo during his speech session today. He kept it on the entire time. His therapist loved it and made me take pictures with her camera.

Sunday Funday

Thumb Sucker

We have been making Declan tough it out in his crib which has sparked a new habit- thumb sucking. We have been following the Ferber method of sleep training and letting Declan cry with "check-ins" at graduated intervals. When you check on him you just shhh-shhh and rub his belly/back. The first night was the worst with 40 total minutes of crying. Since then it has been under ten minutes each night. It has taken several nights to see a decrease in night wakings. Last night he slept from 7:30-2:30, fed, slept 3-5:45, fed and woke up around 6:30. I feel like a new person today after getting a chunk of sleep last night.

He did it!

Declan is officially a show off. He pushed himself up to sitting for the first time in front of our friends tonight. He had an audience of six adults watching as he inched himself up and stuck it! Here are the pictures to prove it. :)

Happy Bouncer

Declan is WAY social now so you can't ignore at all. However, he still loves the bouncer if you sit and engage him while he bounces.

Self Timer

Z was trying to put my camera on the tripod one morning.  So, I obliged which then inspired a series of self timer pictures in our playroom.  Some of them are great and I will try to do this more often.
