Declan Spoils
This is sweet Declan after I do damage control to keep him napping. Thank goodness Z naps for so long so I can help Declan take one good nap.

Hana Escape
We had a great two days in Hana. The kids love it. We just cruised around the house (the gorgeous, ocean front house) and played at the beach.

Walking?
Declan is getting so close...he took two steps a few times this weekend, but I think they were steps on the way to falling. I don't think they can be offically called steps yet. ;)
I had to add a picture of Declan's two new front teeth and just a cute picture of him.

Two and a Half!
or "two half" as Z says...
What fun two and a half years brings. In our opinion, Z is such a great kiddo. He is really coming into his own these days. We are not sure if it is his sudden burst of talking ability or just getting older, but Z’s confidence has blossomed. He is super into playing with other kids even if he they are new friends. He runs off as soon as we get to a park to play with whatever kiddos are around. He often wakes up asking to have a playdate with either Ka’iwi, Nalu, or Keawe. He is also super into doing things himself. Often at night he tells us he wants to “read self” and proceeds to recite his books. He also is into putting himself to sleep and tells us “bye, bye, go night, night.”
I asked Zadoc what he wanted to add to Z’s update and he said that he is talking up a storm. He then said that he isn’t just using safe language, but trying to put together bigger concepts. For a kid who had exactly 10 words six months ago, he has made HUGE strides. At his evaluation the testers were blown away by his vast vocabulary. When you read a book with Z, if there is a picture of something he isn’t sure about, he will point to it and say “this.” He wants to know what everything is. What is crazy is that you usually only have to tell him once and he will remember. The only issue we still have, is we are working on articulation. I am not sure what is normal for this age and I am probably overly critical, but we do have a ways to go until everyone can understand what Z is saying. However, his words are getting clearer by the day.
I just interviewed Z, this is what he shared:
What is your favorite show: Max and Ruby
Favorite Toy: Buzz Lightyear and Woody
Favorite Food: Watermelon
Favorite Friend: Momma (he scored points with that one!)
One other tidbit about Z is he hates getting his picture taken. I did the best I could, but they are not the greatest...

Relief...
I hope I don't jinx us by writing this, but I wanted to document that Declan is sorting out his sleep issues. He will fall asleep for his naps after crying for less than five minutes. Not every nap is long, but they are getting longer. Last night he only woke up once and stayed in his crib until 6:30. Crossing my fingers this continues...

Brother cuteness
The first set of pictures are from the cutest moment ever. Declan crawled up on the coffee table and Z decided to follow him. Next thing I know, Z is hugging Declan and saying love you.
The second set of pics are of brother boys playing together. Declan crawled away from me in the kitchen. When I went searching for him, he and were playing happily together.
Date Night
Zade and I went on ou first date since Z was born. The kids did great with the sitter. Z didn't cry at all!

We played at the park, the fountain at the mall, and the beach with cousins today. It was a fun day!

No safe ground
I told Z to move to higher ground so Declan couldn't get to his food. Well, Declan apparently has no problems climbing up on the furniture and made his way to Z's plate.

Golf Course
We were out at the perfect time for sunset the other night. I had to run back in the house and get my camera. I got a few cute shots.
