9 Months

Nine months of major growing and I already feel like our little baby is but a memory.  Declan is so big now (30 inches long, 98%, and just shy of 21 lbs, 68%.)  The biggest change is his ability to be a part of our world.  He is so aware of everything going on.  Declan doesn't want to miss a thing and will crawl at mach speed to be included, whether it involves food, a toy, a book, and especially to get out the door. He hasn't strayed from being the happiest baby ever.  Today at his doctor's appt. I think every nurse made a comment about how smiley he was.  He didn't even let out a peep when he got a shot.

Declan and Z are definitely fans of each other.  They happily splash in the bath nightly and then engage in a wrestling match on our bed before they settle down.  Declan follows Z everywhere, but is still learning the rules of gentle touch with Z and his toys.  Although Declan isn't walking yet he is quite the cruiser.  We have a few toys he can use to walk assisted with and cruises along all of our furniture.  He is proving to be a master climber and can climb into Z's bed and on top of our coffee table and kiddie chairs.

I am happy to report that Declan FINALLY figured out his morning nap.  I have committed to always being home for his morning nap and doing the same routine every morning.  I can't be sure that was the trick, but he has been napping for close to an hour and a half this past week.  The afternoon nap is still a work in progress and probably always will be as we can't stay home the entire day!  Nights still stink and Declan is still waking up close to every two hours.  I am trying to nurse him less at night and opt for a back rub to put him back down.  It works about half the time.

Well, that is it for this month.  I have a feeling this new month will bring more mobility and even crazier antics for this little guy.
